Got a question about the Texans? Life in general? Drew Dougherty's your guy. He's been with the Texans since 2009 and is chock full of meaningful, as well as generally useless, information. Fire away by clicking HERE!
Jordan: Dear Drew, Who do you think will be the starting running back this week?
DD: Probably Rex Burkhead or David Johnson. The former started last Sunday when the latter was out with illness, but both were at practice today getting reps, so imagine those two will get the bulk of the reps at running back. Royce Freeman and Jaylen Samuels both got carries against the Colts and might figure into the rotation again this weekend. Scottie Phillips remains on the injured reserve.
James: Dear Drew, How bad is Tyrod Taylor's wrist injury? I hate seeing guys get hurt, but it happens. And how is Laremy Tunsil doing?
DD: Head Coach David Culley said Taylor had a "little hyperextension and it swelled upon him", but that Taylor should be "alright". The veteran quarterback practiced on Wednesday and Culley hadn't proclaimed whether Taylor or rookie Davis Mills would start on Sunday against Seattle.
On Monday, Culley said Tunsil remains "day-to-day" and that it wasn't certain the veteran left tackle would return this week. He's been out since the middle of the Week 5 game versus the Patriots.
Adam: Dear Drew, How can we expect the offense to operate with Davis Mills back under center?
DD: Culley hasn't announced Mills will be the starter against Seattle, but after playing in the second half of Sunday's defeat, perhaps Mills and the offense might be able to move the ball a little more efficiently than they did earlier this year.
Mills described how much more comfortable he was this time around, as opposed to the action he saw in Weeks 2 through 8.
"I'm a better player than I was earlier in the season," Mills said. "I know more of the offense now, being in it for longer. I think the comfort builds as you get more playing experience out there."
C Justin Britt also saw a difference in Mills.
"You could tell it in his eyes, his belief in himself and the offense, his job, what he's got to do," Britt said. "He's more comfortable, more poised."
Bethany: Dear Drew, How can we expect Lovie Smith to try and contain Tyler Lockett & D.K. Metcalf?
DD: It'll be tough. That duo has combined for nearly 1,600 receiving yards, and a dozen touchdown catches so far this season. Making it even tougher is their quarterback, Russell Wilson. He's led the Seahawks to victories over Houston the two times he's played the Texans, in 2013 and 2017. A good way to limit them is to get after Wilson. He and backup Geno Smith have been sacked a combined 39 times in 12 games this year.
Taylor: Dear Drew, What are the Texans 2022 Draft picks?
DD: Houston has nine right now. Their own first, second and third, plus a third from the Saints. They also have their own fourth and sixth, as well as sixths from the Packers and 49ers. They also have the Cowboys' seventh.
