Got a question about the Texans?
Life in general?
Drew Dougherty's your guy.
He's been with the Texans since 2009 and is chock full of meaningful, as well as generally useless, information. Fire away by clicking
HERE.

Arland Metzger: Dear Drew, Why didn't the Texans draft at least 3 O-Linemen? They said protection for C.J. Stroud was a priority.
DD: Protecting the quarterback absolutely is a priority. They've spent the offseason transforming the offensive line, and then used a second-round selection on Minnesota left tackle Aireontae Ersery. It's also important to remember they'll have a new scheme under Offensive Coordinator Nick Caley, and there's a new Offensive Line coach in Cole Popovich. The coaching changes and new system could go a long way towards shoring up the protection for Stroud, and Executive Vice President/General Manager Nick Caserio has repeatedly emphasized that roster additions aren't finished, even though the Draft is.

Robert Alexander: Dear Drew, Is there any chance of us being a power run team? Run first, pass second?
DD: Robert, I think the Texans will roll with whatever offense gets them down the field and into the end zone the most often. If that means they run it more than in the past, then so be it. I think they'd like to run the ball more efficiently than they have the last few seasons. Joe Mixon was terrific last year at peeling off long runs in every game, but too often he was getting met in the backfield on other runs because of inconsistent blocking. Giving him and the other backs some breathing room is something I'm sure the Texans would like to improve, because the possibilities are tantalizing if that happens. He was able to crack the 1,000-yard mark last year despite some of the struggles up front.

Oscar Moore: Dear Drew, Do you think Jayden Higgins will be the guy to get the Texans over the hump to compete with the Chiefs or Ravens?
DD: I wouldn't pin that on a rookie. But I certainly think he's going to be an important part of the Texans future on offense, and will factor into its success. Like I mentioned above, Houston is banking on improved o-line play, which should open up all sorts of successes for Stroud and the weapons he has in place in this offense.

Higgins is a fascinating prospect. He's tall, fast and has a big catch radius. Having to account for his skillset, in addition to Pro Bowler Nico Collins, should help get the Texans offense into some mismatch situations.

Leo Lozano, Jr.: Dear Drew, do you think the Houston Texans will ever update or change their intro music when the team comes out of the tunnel before the start of the game? There's a really great intro that I believe would send the whole stadium and the players into a frenzy and it's the intro to AC/DC's "THUNDER STRUCK " it's the perfect hype song intro thunderous and powerful.
DD: Thanks for the question, Leo. The Texans have played "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC after touchdowns in the past. The folks in our gameday entertainment crew have a lot up their proverbial sleeves and are always working to make sure the in-stadium experience is the best in the NFL. I've no doubt they'll have some great intro music for 2025.
