Arian Foster leaves game with back injury

Arian Foster left Sunday's game with a lower back strain. The Pro Bowl running back left in the first quarter without a single carry and did not return. Foster, who was active for Sunday's game, had been battling a hamstring injury since the Texans' last game at Kansas City.

Ben Tate, with four cracked ribs, and newly signed undrafted rookie Dennis Johnson took over for Foster. At halftime, Tate had 47 yards rushing on 14 carries while Johnson added 27 yards on 4 rushes. Houston led Indianapolis 21-3.
