The 2016 NFL Draft gets going on Thursday, April 28 in Chicago.
The Texans own the 22nd overall pick that night. It's the highest they've picked since the 2013 Draft, when they selected receiver DeAndre Hopkins at 27th overall.
In the last six years, names like Demaryius Thomas, DeAndre Hopkins and Johnny Manziel have been picked at 22.
Numerous writers and TV personalities have started mocking the 2016 Draft, and below is a compilation of some more notable ones. This Mock Draft Survey tabulated results from 16 experts, That number will grow through the spring, as more add their mock drafts.
After the first go-round, Ohio State running back Ezekeiel Elliott was the most-mocked player to the Texans, as 33 percent of the mockers had him as the 22nd pick.
In Mock 2.0, Elliott is again the favorite pick, and he's been tabbed to the Texans by eight different experts. The Buckeye back clocked in with 50 percent of the vote this time.
Elliott churned out 1,821 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns in 2015. He averaged 6.3 yards per carry. During the Buckeyes' national championship campaign of 2014, Elliott finished with 1,878 rushing yards and was good for 6.9 yards a pop.
Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook and Memphis signal-caller Paxton Lynch each picked up two votes apiece (11.1%).
Positionally, 15 of the 16 picks (93.8%) were offensive ones. Six of those 16 selections (37.5%) were quarterbacks.
