BWTB: 'Dre Day in Arizona?

!

At long last, it's game week*.

The Texans play their preseason opener this Saturday at Arizona, but it gets an asterisk because hey, it's a preseason game.

Head coach Bill O'Brien hasn't detailed how much some of the established veterans will play versus the Cardinals. For that matter, he hasn't tipped his hand on how any of the 90 players on the roster will contribute.

But Andre Johnson said he wouldn't mind suiting up, even though it's a contest that won't count in the standings.

Even though he's missed a good chunk of the last week's worth of practices due to what he's termed a minor injury.

And even though he's been in the NFL since 2003.

"I would hope to," Johnson said, when asked whether or not he was rushing back to play. "It doesn't matter what game it is; you want to play."

Johnson missed OTAs and minicamp, and practiced a few days with his teammates before exiting a practice early last week. He said he knows the decision on whether he plays or not is out of his hands, and is fine with that.

"It's best that I do what's best for the team," Johnson said. "If that's me being out there then I'll be out there, and if it's not then I won't."
