Camp Updates: Matt Schaub returns, Posey making progress

Head coach Gary Kubiak gave updates on DeVier Posey and several other players following training camp on Wednesday.

-WR DeVier Posey has turned a corner in rehab, according to Kubiak. Posey has been working with trainers and could be pulled off the PUP list after the Texans preseason game against Miami on Saturday.

-QB Matt Schaub returned to practice after missing Monday and Tuesday due to the death of his grandfather.

"My grandfather was one of my biggest fans," Schaub said. "He was always there, always supportive. The first one I would talk to when I got home from games growing up or in high school and college. He would always be there to support. He was a special man."

-G Ben Jones participated in team drills despite being sick but had to leave towards the end of practice.

"He's just sick," Kubiak said. "Practiced sick for his team. Not many guys would have been out here the way he was feeling, but he found a way to get through it. Just hit the wall at the end."

-OLB Trevardo Williams will return on Thursday after having a cyst drained on the bottom of his foot. Williams went through warmups with the trainers on Wednesday morning but did not practice.

-NT Chris Jones was in a walking boot due to a calf strain.

"It's a day-to-day deal," Kubiak said. "He's not going to play this week. I can tell you that for sure. We put him in a boot, so we'll re-evaluate him as we get to the end of the week."
