Kubiak: Player Updates 7/28

Head Coach Gary Kubiak gave an update on several players after Sunday morning's training camp practice.

  • OLB Sam Montgomery did not practice and was wearing an orthopedic boot. Montgomery rolled his ankle, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

"Sam's got an ankle," Kubiak said after the Sunday morning practice. "We put him in a boot. He's going to miss a few days, so he'll be day-to-day."

  • LG Wade Smith was not at practice due to illness.

"He's sick," said Kubiak. "I don't know if we've got something going around or whatever, but he came in sick this morning. We've sent him to the doctor. He's doing better. I'll know about him this evening."

  • TE Garrett Graham did not practice as he was still recovering from illness.

"Garrett is doing good. (He) will be back in the building this evening to start his routine with meetings and stuff, and obviously we're probably looking at a few days working him back the right way. He's lost some weight. (It's) been a pretty rough go on him, but he's fine. It's just going to take some time. We'll get him back the right way."

  • FB Greg Jones had a scheduled day of rest. He was at practice but did individual work on the bike.

"I've got a plan for him," Kubiak said. "He's been playing a long time, doing a lot of banging and so we've got a routine for him. So you'll probably see him take a morning off every third or fourth day." *Twitter.com/DeepSlant*
