Lamar Miller day-to-day

Heading into Week 16 at Philadelphia, Lamar Miller has been limited in practice this week.

“We’re just taking it day-by-day,” Miller said Thursday.

On Saturday, the Texans starting running back suffered an ankle injury on the first possession of Houston’s 29-22 win against the New York Jets. Miller returned for one more series before exiting the game for good.

“I wanted to get back out there to compete with my teammates, to try and help this team in any way that’s possible,” Miller said. “But at the same time, I’ve got to be smart and just make the right decision for the team.”

Miller says he sees progress regarding his ankle injury. He will likely be a game-time decision to play on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“It’s very frustrating, but at the same time, it’s Week 16," Miller said. "A lot of guys have little bruises and nicks so that’s part of the game.”

Through 13 games this season, Miller has rushed for 917 yards and four touchdowns on 193 carries. He has also caught 23 passes for 163 yards and a score. The seven-year veteran missed just one game, the Sunday night matchup against Dallas with a chest injury. Miller has recorded four 100-yard rushing performances this season, tying a single-season career high.

The (10-4) Texans will travel to Philadelphia to take on the (7-7) Eagles on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 12 noon CT on CBS and SportsRadio 610.
