Player personnel and scouts from various teams, including the Houston Texans, attended Texas A&M's first Pro Day of 2014. Teams evaluated and met with players at Texas A&M's indoor practice facility, the McFerrin Athletic Center.
Johnny Manziel and wide receiver Mike Evans, who will have their own Pro Day on March 27, observed as ten of their teammates performed various drills, including the vertical jump and 40-yard dash.
Projected first-round pick Jake Matthews participated in just the position drills run by St. Louis Rams o-line coach Paul Boudreau.
"I thought I did well," Matthews said. "They were putting me through a bunch of different stuff to showcase what I'm capable of and that I'm able."
Matthews' father, Hall of Famer and 19-year NFL veteran Bruce Matthews, was on hand and watched from the sideline.
"I see what I see on film and he's been blessed with really good feet," Matthews said of his son. "He moves around really well on the field and he has a real feel for the game."
Matthews met with the St. Louis Rams, who have the second-overall selection in the draft, afterwards on campus.
