Got a question about the Texans?
Life in general?
Drew Dougherty's your guy.
He's been with the Texans since 2009 and is chock full of meaningful, as well as generally useless, information. Fire away by clicking
HERE.

Larry King: Dear Drew, Short & Sweet! What position battle are you looking forward to & why? Go Texans!
DD: Wide receiver, defensive line and cornerback top the list, but I gotta go with the receivers room.
Let me preface everything that follows in this answer with: injuries help settle/solve many of these position battles, unfortunately.

But the receivers room looks to be stacked. In Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs, you have a trio of players who were all incredibly productive last season. But Noah Brown, when healthy, was a difference-maker, too. Everything we've heard from Stroud, Dell and head coach DeMeco Ryans, indicates wide receiver John Metchie, III is on his way to a year of improvement. Veteran Robert Woods was a reliable target last season who has a good on-field chemistry with Stroud. Xavier Hutchinson is in his first full offseason with the club, and according to Ryans, "is improving his route running and his ability to attack edges and get open."

Plus guys like Jared Wayne, Johnny Johnson, III and others will be competing and pushing as well for spots on the roster. It'll be a fascinating competition to watch.

Pamela Kennedy: Dear Drew, when do you expect our Training Camp dates will be released?
DD: Pamela, we typically hear about the training camp schedule between the middle and end of June. So I would expect some new news in the next couple of weeks.

Kenola Johnson: Dear Drew, Let's Win.
DD: Hell yeah, Kenola.

Bruce Fox: Dear Drew, What is your win loss prediction for 2024?
DD: Bruuuuuuuuuce! Gimme 12-5.

Richard Marsh: Dear Drew, Who do see as starting left guard and the cornerback opposite Derek Stingley, Jr.?
DD: Great questions, Richard. We touched on the competition at left guard in the last 'Fans Wanna Know', and you can read that HERE.

As far as corner, in May and June we saw rookie Kamari Lassiter look really good. Veterans like Jeff Okudah and C.J. Henderson will be in the mix, and Desmond King, II has proven to be a valuable player as well. There are some others in the mix, too, but I would keep your eyes on that quartet, and especially so on Lassiter. The second-rounder really shined in minicamp, and played with a lot of confidence.

Ninfa Gonzalez: Dear Drew, What is your favorite Mexican food/dish?
DD: Beef enchiladas, with rice and refried beans is a go-to. It's more Tex-Mexish, but I also love beef tacos al carbon, covered in queso and guacamole.

Justin Storey: Dear Drew, Are you as excited as I am for the Texans vs Cowboys game? I live 150 miles east of Dallas and I'm a Texans fan so I get a lot of flack cause I'm a Texans fan.
DD: Yes. I'm pumped. It's ALWAYS cool when these two teams square off. The atmosphere in Arlington will be a charged one, and I think we'll see a sizeable Texans crowd on the road for that one. There were so may Texans fans in attendance there in the 2014 matchup, that Dallas quarterback Tony Romo and the Cowboys offense had to operate by hand signals and silent count. He wasn’t happy about that then, and I could see a bigger Texans contingent in the building this fall.
