QB decisions, injury updates & more | Dear Drew

Got a question about the Texans? Life in general? Drew Dougherty's your guy. He's been with the Texans since 2009 and is chock full of meaningful, as well as generally useless, information. Fire away by clicking HERE!

John Rubio - Dear Drew, With the way things are looking right now, what number in the 2022 NFL draft do you think we're going to land on?
DD: If the season were over today, Houston would own the second overall pick in the Draft. The Texans have nine picks right now in 2022. They have their own first, second and third, as well as a third from the Saints. They also have a fourth, three sixths and a seventh.

I still think the Texans will win some more games, so that will likely jiggle the draft order and drop them down some. In many regards, we're a long way—eight games—from the end of the regular season.

Mike Henry - Dear Drew: Who's going to start against the Titans?
DD: On Monday, Head Coach David Culley said Tyrod Taylor will be the starter at Tennessee in Week 11. The Texans play the Titans that Sunday at noon CT and Taylor's going to be the guy under center. It will be his fourth start of 2021.

Derwin Jordan – Dear Drew, With the injuries so far, who are some players we might see back in action after the Bye Week?
DD: There's a chance you'll see LT Laremy Tunsil (thumb injury) start practicing and possibly play next week at Tennessee. Culley said earlier this week that the Texans are hopeful the Pro Bowler can practice and be a go for Houston sometime soon. C Justin Britt (knee) has to sit out at least the Titans game and the Jets game at NRG Stadium the following Sunday before he can come back.

Stephanie Smart – Dear Drew, Why wasn't Jeff Driskel put in weeks ago?
DD: The Texans wanted to go with Mills. They used their first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, a third-rounder, on him. They've liked his progress. They want him to get more reps under center so they can know for sure whether or not he's the guy for the long-term.

The next time you can see the Texans at NRG Stadium will be on November 28 as they host the New York Jets in Week 12. Kickoff is set for noon CT. Click here for tickets.
