Rex Ryan praises Romeo Crennel

Jets head coach Rex Ryan and brother Rob, defensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints, both have crossed paths with Romeo Crennel.

"I actually had a long career going against him," Ryan said Thursday at the NFL Combine. "My twin brother, the less handsome one, is the one who had a long career with Romeo and coached with him. Romeo is a football coach and a great person so it's not only that the Texans are getting an A-plus coach, they're also getting an A-plus person and really a salt of the earth type of guy."

Rob Ryan and Crennel helped lead the New England Patriots to Super Bowl championships in 2001 and 2003. Ryan coached linebackers under Crennel who was the defensive coordinator at the time.

Rex Ryan and Crennel were AFC North division rivals from 2005-2008. Crennel was Cleveland's head coach during the time Rex Ryan coached Baltimore's defensive line.
