The Leftovers: Trick plays, rookies, Changes in secondary

Drew Dougherty of Texans TV has been with the franchise since the start of the 2009 season. He answered a few questions from fans in the video above, and quite a few more in the article below.

Antonio Perez Junior: Dear Drew, Do you see the Texans doing a trick play and throwing Andre Johnson out there this season?
DD: No. But he looks like he can still play. **He's been contributing** as an advisor to the head coach and general manager.

Daniel Aaron Shipe: Dear Drew, which Texans rookie do you think will have the biggest impact in year 1?
DD: Tough one, but I'd have to go with offensive lineman Max Scharping and tight end Kahale Warring. Good chance both of those guys are on the field often and early this season.

Derwin Jordan: Dear Drew, I havent heard much talk about AJ McCarron. Hows he progressing in the system?
DD: He's looked solid, Derwin. Deshaun Watson's going through his first OTAs getting reps with the ones, as last year he was limited because of the knee injury, and he was behind Tom Savage and Brandon Weeden as a rookie that spring. But it's looked like McCarron has done a good job moving the offense and distributing the ball.

Chris Ketchem: Dear Drew, How has D'Onta Foreman been looking?
DD: Foreman, head coach Bill O'Brien and running backs coach Danny Barrett all agree: it's been a good spring for Foreman. He's said this is the best he's ever felt going into a season, and that goes back to his high school days at Texas City. O'Brien has seen "good progress" from Foreman, who was rehabbing an Achilles injury this time last year. Barrett said the third-year back is "light years" ahead of where he was this time last year. I'm excited to see what he and Lamar Miller wind up doing this season.

Matt Brawley: Dear Drew, Are there any plans to ban Drake from attending any Texan games?
DD: Haven't heard. Doubt it.

Matthew Garza: Dear Drew, Do you think the Texans will pick anyone else up?
DD: Absolutely. In between the week after the Draft and cutdown from 90 to 53 players at the end of the preseason, the Texans typically make a handful of additions. Expect to see a few new faces in between now and the start of the regular season, whether that's via trade, a waiver-wire claim or a free agent.

Clinton Polasek: Dear Drew, What's your opinion on the Jadeveon Clowney situation?
DD: I think he's an outstanding player and I think we'll see him on the field this season for the Texans.

Jeffrey Wilson: Dear Drew, Who wins the AFC south this year and who does not make the playoffs?
DD: It'll be another dogfight this season. Everybody looks like they've improved. But I think it comes down to the Texans and Colts. If Will Fuller, V and Keke Coutee stay healthy, gimme the Texans.

Marcus LaBrosse: Dear Drew, How is Karan Higdon looking at OTAs?
DD: O'Brien's said that all the rookies have "a long way to go", so Higdon certainly falls into that category. But the undrafted free agent out of Michigan will certainly be in the mix for that third running back job behind Miller and Foreman. His college resume is impressive.

Ryan Riffel: Dear Drew, With the trip to London this year what kind of impact nationally do you feel people will watch the game compared to a prime time game?
DD: It all depends. Winning sort of cures everything, so I think if both the Texans and Jaguars have a winning record at the time, and the Texans are victorious, there will be a positive reaction. It'll be the only game on at the time, but it'll be a morning game. Ultimately, winning big and winning in January and February is the best way to make an impact nationally.

Derwin Jordan: Dear Drew, Give us a sneak preview of the bonus 'In The Lab' coming our way.
DD: "Turn down for Watt". That's my clue, and you'll be able to hear it tomorrow. The Texans Top 100 is counting down 100 great moments in franchise history, and it began last weekend. We're now just 95 days away from the season opener on Monday Night Football at New Orleans.

Cameron Covington: Dear Drew, Will the revamped secondary play any better than last season?
DD: That's the plan, Cameron. Houston signed a pair of corners in Bradley Roby and Briean Boddy-Calhoun, along with two safeties in Tashaun Gipson and Jahleel Addae. Plus they drafted another two corners as well. Justin Reid is back after an impressive rookie campaign in 2018, and through OTAs he's looked even better.

Adrian Medina: Dear Drew, Do the Texans have a Snapchat, I keep seeing other teams posting videos but not the Texans.
DD: C'mon Adrian, where you been? Of course we're on Snapchat. Go **HERE**.

James Pauley: Dear Drew, What has the been the best moment for you during the time you have worked with the Texans?
DD: A zillion, but most have involved the Bengals. Seeing T.J. Yates and the offense march down the field in December of 2011 to score the game-winner at Cincinnati was a fun one. Then the playoff game here at home a month later was a lot of fun. Gorgeous day, 'Dre scored, Arian scored, and Watt turned in the greatest play in franchise history. The Christmas Eve division-clincher in 2016 was a lot of fun, too.
