Ben Wang is entering his fifth season with the Houston Texans and currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Business Analytics and Insights. Wang oversees the organization's Business Analytics and Technology department as well as the data and analytics strategy by transforming data into actionable insights to drive strategic decision-making for operational efficiency, fan engagement and experience, pricing and inventory optimization, technological advancement and organizational business growth.
Wang brings extensive experience in sports analytics and business intelligence across multiple professional sports leagues, teams and organizations. He joined the Texans in May of 2022, and prior to this, Wang served as the Head of Business Intelligence for the New Orleans Saints & Pelicans, overseeing data and analytics initiatives across both teams. From 2015 to 2018, he served as Head of Business Analytics for the Arizona Coyotes (NHL); and from 2012 to 2015, he was Manager of CRM and Analytics at the Oklahoma City Thunder. Wang began his career as a Software Configuration Engineer for Technicolor in 2006 and then served multiple technical and analytical roles at Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games, The Walt Disney Company, and Columbus Crew (MLS) in his earlier career.
Wang earned an MBA and Master of Sports Administration dual degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and a Master of Electronic Engineering degree from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. Wang now resides in Katy, Texas with his wife, Ana, and their two children Doran and Serena.
