Andre Johnson, NASA to announce draft picks

The Texans will have star-studded lineup of guest announcers for selections in this week's NFL Draft, including two U.S. astronauts and a pair of former first-round picks.

Throughout the league, current and former players will reveal their team's picks on Day 2. Andre Johnson, the franchise's all-time leading receiver, two-time All-Pro, and seven-time Pro Bowler will reveal Houston's second-round pick. Inside linebacker Brian Cushing, the team's 2016 Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee and all-time leading tackler, will announce the third-round pick in Philadelphia.

The final day of the draft kicks off with two picks from Space Center Houston. From the International Space Station, astronaut Peggy Whitson will introduce the selection. Back on Earth, retired astronaut Scott Kelly will make the live announcement from Space Center Houston, joined by TORO and the Houston Texans cheerleaders.

Whitson broke the record for cumulative time in space by a U.S. astronaut when she surpassed 535 days on April 24. Kelly, an avid Texans fan, was part of the first-ever one-year mission aboard the International Space Station which landed last March.

A Texans fan, selected by the NFL, will announce Houston's seventh-round pick. The Texans do not have a sixth-round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft.

The 2017 NFL Draft takes place Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29 in Philadelphia. The Texans currently hold the following picks (overall):

Round 1: 25th
Round 2: 57th
Round 3: 89th
Round 4: 130th and 142nd (compensatory pick from Cleveland Browns)
