Brian Cushing cleared to play Sunday

Brian Cushing will start in Sunday's game at San Francisco after clearing the league's concussion protocol on Friday.

"He's good, took all his stuff he normally takes and ready to go," head coach Gary Kubiak said after practice.

Cushing suffered a mild concussion on his second-to-last play of the game against Seattle, a tackle on Marshawn Lynch for one-yard loss. The Pro Bowl linebacker remained in for one more play before leaving the game for good.

Cushing, who finished the day with ten tackles and one forced fumble, had no doubt that he would be back in time for Texans Week 5 game against the 49ers.

"There were some steps that I had to go through, but everything went real smooth. There were no setbacks or anything like that. Pretty much, the general consensus the whole time was that I would play."
