The 2009 Houston Texans Cheerleaders Swimsuit Calendar, which features 14 of the Texans Cheerleaders shot on location at Reliant Stadium, is on sale now after making its debut last week.

The calendar is priced at $10, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Methdoist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center and the Houston Texans Foundation. Fans can buy the calendar at all 23 Houston-area Academy Sports Outdoors locations, at the Texans Pro Shop at The Woodlands Mall, the Go Texans Store in Reliant Stadium and online **right here**.

"It's so exciting," calendar cover girl Erica said. "It's all just coming to life, it feels like – all the anticipation and we're finally here. I love it. I'm so excited."

In 2008, the inaugural Texans Cheerleader Swimsuit Calendar raised $50,000 for the DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center. On the first day of sales for the 2009 calendar, the 14 featured girls visited Academy's Westheimer and Voss location to sign autographs for fans from 6-8 p.m.

"It's so fun seeing the fans," Erica said. "It's great. We get to meet people that we see at the games and finally get to find out what their name might be, because sometimes you're in a rush on gameday when we have to get from one place to the next. So it's nice to get some quality time."

{QUOTE}SportsRadio 610 AM and KILT FM were on hand for the event, which featured a steady stream of fans decked out in Texans gear throughout the two-hour signing period.

"Having 14 cheerleaders in your store is never a bad thing," Jason Wooden, Academy's East region marketing director, said. "The fans in Houston love it. They've come to know Academy for a place to buy their Houston gear and a place to come and see the cheerleaders, so having the second annual cheerleader calendar here, it's been a wonderful experience for us."

The calendar signing at Academy was preceded a day earlier by the Texans' annual Bulls & Birdies Golf Tournament at the Tradition Course at Cypresswood Golf Club.

At the tournament, the entire Texans Cheerleaders squad and a host of Texans staff members played host to 110 participants who played in groups of four after an 11 a.m. shotgun start.

Calendar girls from each month were stationed at different holes throughout the course, waiting to greet the players and sign the brand new calendars on the pages of their respective months.

The tournament featured "longest drive" and "closest to the pin" competitions as well as food stations provided by Prince's Hamburgers. Each Bulls & Birdies participant received a copy of the 2009 calendar, a Texans mini-helmet and Texans apparel.
The Bulls & Birdies tournament, also in its second year, benefited the STPGA and the Houston Texans Foundation.

Fans who missed out on the first two events will have two more chances to meet the women of the 2009 Texans Cheerleaders Swimsuit Calendar at upcoming appearances at other Academy locations. The cheerleaders will be at Academy's Pearland location at 2804 Business Center Dr. on Nov. 22 from 12-2 p.m. Their third and final Academy appearance will be at the Academy in Katy at 23155 I-10 West, also from 12-2 p.m., on Dec. 13.
