D'Onta Foreman back for Week 1?

D'Onta Foreman had the breakout game of his rookie season, rushing for two touchdowns against Arizona on Nov. 19, before being carted off the field for a season-ending Achilles injury.

The Texans running back could be ready to return for Week 1 of the 2018 regular season.

"I won't speak specific to injuries but I'm fairly optimistic that the answer would be yes," Texans general manager Brian Gaine said Wednesday at the NFL Combine.

Foreman, placed on injured reserve for the final six games last season, has since been rehabbing at the team's facility. In his Week 11 performance against the Cardinals, Foreman recorded 80 yards (65 rushing, 15 receiving) from scrimmage and scored two touchdowns. Foreman finished his rookie campaign with  327 yards rushing on 78 carries and two touchdowns. He also had six catches for 83 yards receiving.
