Derek Newton returns to practice

Derek Newton returned to practice Friday, after missing Thursday with an elbow injury.

"Yeah, he was out there practicing and finished the practice, haven't really talked to him since the end of practice but it looks ok to me," head coach Bill O'Brien said.

The Texans fifth-year right tackle started at left guard Sept. 20 at Carolina, right guard in Weeks 6 and 7 at Jacksonville and Miami, and played both right and left tackle in Week 8 against Tennessee. Newton hasn't missed a start this season and doesn't plan to on Sunday against New Orleans either.

"I felt good - a little nag, but I'm not going to let that stop me," Newton said. "I'm going to be there on Sunday. I'm going to brace it up and be on the safe side but I'll be ready."

The Texans host the Saints on Sunday. Kickoff is set for noon CT on FOX-26 and SportsRadio 610.
