Derek Newton won't return in 2016

Derek Newton out for the year
Derek Newton won't be returning for the 2016 season, head coach Bill O'Brien announced Tuesday.
"We're still gathering a bunch of information," O'Brien said. "He'll obviously be out for the season. I can't give you any specifics on the injuries and things like that because we still have doctors' visits. He stayed overnight in Denver and he's on his way back now. I feel bad, just a tough injury, but I know he's going to work hard to come back."
After suffering a knee injury in the first quarter of Monday night's 27-9 loss at Denver, the Texans starting right tackle was carted off the field. Newton, who started six of seven games this year, was returning after an ankle injury kept him from playing in Week 6 against Indianapolis.
"It's tough," Johnathan Joseph said after the game. "As a teammate and as a friend off the field you feel for a guy like that. He was just coming back and getting back into the groove after a previous injury. It's going to be a long road to recovery, but he has a lot of support from us. I just wish him well."
