Deshaun Watson and Tom Brady are fans of each other.
The 2016 National Champion quarterback, and the 5-time Super Bowl champ chatted for a few moments after Wednesday's practice between the Texans and Patriots at The Greenbrier in West Virginia.
"It's cool," Watson said. "It's a blessing to be in his presence and have that opportunity to learn from one of the best that's done it for a long time. It's always good to talk to him and be able to talk to him more down the road."
Watson, the backup to starter Tom Savage, made quite the impression on Brady over the past few years.
"He's had such an, obviously, great college career, got picked by a great team," Brady said, in transcripts provided by Patriots.com. "Watching him play, he's got a great future. He's got all the ability. It was great to meet him. I've watched him have so many great games. Pro football players watch a lot of college players because on Saturday nights we're at the hotel and Clemson was on a lot. Obviously, they won a lot of big games so it was great to meet him."
Watson shared what he and Brady discussed in the brief interaction.
"We were just kind of congratulating each other on all the success that we've had, and he was just giving me a little tip here and there about this league and this system and Coach OB," Watson said. "It was a good talk."
Texans head coach Bill O'Brien was an offensive assistant with the Patriots from 2007 through 2011.
The Texans and Patriots will hold a walk-through practice on Thursday in West Virginia. On Friday, they'll fly to Houston, where they'll play a preseason game on Saturday night at 7:00 in NRG Stadium.
