"Hard Knocks will be a distraction."

Perhaps that idea is true. After all, four teams featured on HBO show have wound up with losing records.
But, four teams have also made it to the playoffs. A ninth team, the 2008 Dallas Cowboys, were 9-7 and missed out on the postseason with a third-place finish in the NFC East.
As you can see in the graphic below, teams have been all over the place when it comes to success on the field. (Some might say NONE have been successful, as no team featured on Hard Knocks ever won a Super Bowl.)
Both Bengals teams that were featured went on to win division titles. But each of those Cincinnati squads lost at home in the Wild Card round.
The 2010 New York Jets won 11 games, finished second in the AFC East and advanced to the AFC Championship game.
Combined, the nine teams that were profiled have a record of 73-71.
