Head coach Gary Kubiak gave updates on starters Matt Schaub, Brian Cushing, and Wade Smith following practice on Monday.
-QB Matt Schaub did not practice and will be out until Wednesday because of a death in the family.
-ILB Brian Cushing missed the morning practice due to illness for a second consecutive day. He came back, however, for the afternoon walkthrough inside.
-G Wade Smith, who did not play in the preseason opener, is still out with a bone bruise in his knee that he suffered on August 6.
-WR Alan Bonner, who also did not play in Friday's preseason game at Minnesota, was not practicing. Bonner tweaked his hamstring in camp on August 2.
"We pushed him a little bit yesterday. Didn't like what we saw," Kubiak said of Bonner's progress. "So we may be another week away. I hope not, but it could be the case."
-OLB Sam Montgomery returned to practice on Sunday and is "full-go," according to Kubiak.
