Head coach Gary Kubiak is lobbying hard with his doctors to resume coaching from the sideline. If he does not get approval, he could be back in the press box when the Texans host the Jaguars on Sunday.
"We talked about it last night," Kubiak said. "We'll probably talk about it again tomorrow. Let me see. I'm in a battle."
Kubiak coached from the press box for Sunday's game against Oakland while offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, who usually remains upstairs, took his place on the sideline. After the game, Kubiak said that while his health was fine during the game, he preferred being on the sideline.
"You don't feel emotion up there like you do when you're on the field,"Kubiak said.
The Texans head coach has been instructed by doctors to limit his stress and workload since suffering a mini-stroke on November 3. Kubiak collapsed while leaving the field at halftime and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. After missing a week of practice and the trip to Arizona, Kubiak returned to work at Reliant Stadium on November 13.
