Here are five things you need to know about Zach Cunningham, the Texans 2017 second-round draft pick:

1. Making history
In 2016, Cunningham compiled an SEC-best 119 total tackles, which ranked 11th overall nationally. He finished second in the SEC with 16.5 tackles for loss and second in the nation with four fumble recoveries. He became the first unanimous All-American selection in Vanderbilt history.


  1. Perfect Timing*
    Cunningham expertly leapfrogged a long snapper and blocked a late field goal attempt by Auburn last November. After the game, he said he figured out the center's cadence and timed his jump accordingly.

3. Started from the bottom
In 2013, Cunningham redshirted as a true freshman at Vanderbilt, participating as a scout team linebacker.

4. Seventh Heaven
He is one of seven siblings, four brothers: Frederick, Ethan, Nathan and Zapheth; and two sisters, Gabriel and Danica.

5. Twitter newbie.
