J.J. Watt reaches out to Clowney

Jadeveon Clowney will be spending a lot of time with J.J. Watt. According to the Texans No. 1 overall pick, the two spoke on the phone shortly after he was drafted.

"I just got off the phone with him (Watt)," Clowney said. "He says he's going to stay on my butt when I get there."

General manager and executive vice president Rick Smith expects to use Clowney as an outside linebacker in Romeo Crennel's defense. In third down situations or in certain packages, he would rush the quarterback alongside Watt. The 2012 Associated Press Defensive Player of the Year still has a lot he can teach the former South Carolina end.

"He told me he's going to give me every piece of knowledge to help me improve my game," Clowney said. "He's going to show me like a mentor or big brother to me and I told him I appreciate that and I'm looking forward to working with him."
