Jaelen Strong returns for Week 2

Jaelen Strong returns to the Texans lineup on a short week against the Cincinnati Bengals.

"Any time you get a guy back that's been out for a week with a suspension, that's good," head coach Bill O'Brien said Tuesday.  "You want your full complement of players as much as you can at every position."

The third-year receiver is a welcome addition to a receiving corps that will be without two wide receivers in Thursday night's game. Bruce Ellington, who was signed in camp to replace the injured Will Fuller V, suffered a concussion on Sunday against the Jaguars. All three Texans tight ends, C.J. Fiedorowicz, Ryan Griffin and Stephen Anderson are also currently in the NFL's concussion protocol.

Strong was activated from the Reserve/Suspended list and Fiedorwicz was placed on Injured Reserve in a corresponding roster move on Tuesday.

"I'm just happy to be back and glad to be back with my teammates," Strong said. "It was a long week, but glad to be back (and) glad to go to work."

The Texans travel to Cincinnati for their Thursday Night Football game against the Bengals. Kickoff is set for 7:25 p.m. CT on NFL Network and SportsRadio 610.
