Lamar Miller limited in Thursday's practice
Running back Lamar Miller was limited in Thursday's practice with a shoulder injury, but head coach Bill O'Brien is optimistic about the starter's progress.
""I think that will be day-to-day, but I was definitely encouraged today," O'Brien said.
Miller sustained the injury in Monday night's loss to the Denver Broncos, left for the locker room more than once but returned each time. He finished with 11 carries for 61 yards.
The Texans had a day off from practice on Wednesday, but two players worked their way back to the practice field after notable absences. Safety Quintin Demps (calf) and running back Johnathan Grimes (ankle) both were limited in their return to the practice field Thursday. Demps, injured in Week 5 at Minnesota, had been inactive for the last two games. Grimes had not practiced since the Sept. 22 loss at New England, where he forced a fumble on special teams.
The (4-3) Texans will host the (4-3) Lions on Sunday in their annual Salute to Service Day. Kickoff is set for noon CT.
