Looking ahead

The season's final Sunday cleared up the last two spots in question on the Texans' 2004 schedule.

Houston tied Jacksonville for third place in the AFC South with a 5-11 record. But the Jaguars took the tiebreaker by virtue of a better division record (2-4 to 1-5). Thus, the Texans will host the fourth-place team in the AFC North (Cleveland) and travel to the Meadowlands to face the Jets, the fourth-place team in the AFC East.

The 2004 schedule rotation has the AFC South facing the AFC West and NFC North. The Texans will host the Packers, Vikings, Raiders and Chargers, while facing the Bears, Lions, Broncos and Chiefs on the road.

Dates and times will be announced in the first part of April.
