THE HOUSTON CHRONICLE NAMES THE HOUSTON TEXANS A WINNER OF THE HOUSTON METRO AREA 2016 TOP WORKPLACES AWARD

HOUSTON – The Houston Texans and have been awarded a 2016 Top Workplaces honor by The Houston Chronicle for the fourth consecutive year. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including Alignment, Execution, and Connection, just to name a few.

"The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes, people assume it's all about fancy perks and benefits." says Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics. "But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day—the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what's most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it's going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together. Claffey adds, "Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn't have a shot at being named a Top Workplace."

The Texans strive to hire employees and players that are a good fit in representing the organization, the Houston community and the National Football League by focusing their recruiting efforts on individuals with high character, a strong work ethic and a fierce competitive spirit.

"We are proud to be recognized for the fourth-consecutive year as one of Houston's top workplaces," said Jamey Rootes, President of the Houston Texans. "Attracting and retaining a team of incredibly talented and hard-working professionals is a fundamental part of our game plan for success and it requires that we provide an environment that meets or exceeds their expectations.  It is gratifying to know that our employees believe this is a special place work."

The Texans, whose stated mission is "to create and maintain the most respected and most valuable professional sports franchise in the world," have three primary objectives: win championships, create memorable experiences for their fans and partners and do great things in the Houston community.
