Texans get 31-20 road win over Jaguars

The Texans scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to revive their spirits and season en route to 31-20 win over Jacksonville. Houston's defense had three interceptions on the day.

DeAndre Hopkins had his fourth-consecutive game with over 100 yards receiving and caught two touchdown passes from Brian Hoyer. Hopkins finished the game with 10 catches for 148 yards. Cecil Shorts III returned to Jacksonville for the first time as a Texan and added 63 yards on four receptions.

Hoyer, in his second start of 2015, was 24-of-36 for 293 yards, throwing three touchdowns. He also amassed a 119.3 passer rating. Arian Foster had 112 yards from scrimmage (53 rushing, 59 receiving) and one touchdown.

Second-year cornerback Andre Hal picked up his first two career interceptions, one leading to a Texans score. He first picked off Blake Bortles at the goal line, ending a Jaguars scoring drive with 0:17 left in the first half. His second was a returned for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to extend the Texans' lead to 17 points.

Foster scored his first touchdown of the season on a 14-yard catch and run from Hoyer late in the first quarter. The 99-yard scoring drive tied a Texans franchise record (2010 against Baltimore).

The Jaguars tied the game with a touchdown drive of their own on their next possession. Blake Bortles found Allen Robinson on a two-yard touchdown pass.

Nick Novak added a 41-yard field goal with 6:38 left in the second quarter. It gave the Texans 10-7 lead that lasted until nearly the end of the third quarter. Jacksonville took their first lead of the day with just five seconds left in the third quarter, after Bortles connected with Julius Thomas on a 29-yard touchdown catch. The Jaguars, who took possession at mid-field after a failed fourth down attempt by the Texans, moved the ball 52 yards in four plays and led 14-10.

The fourth quarter was all Houston as Hopkins found the endzone twice and eclipsed 100 yards receiving. Hal's 31-yard interception return for a touchdown gave the Texans a 31-14 lead. Cornerback A.J. Bouye intercepted Bortles for the third time of the day with 1:09 left in the game.

The Texans improve to 2-4 on the season and will travel to Miami in Week 7 to face the Dolphins.
