Texans to celebrate Black History Month

In observance of Black History Month, the Houston Texans organization will participate in an educational initiative aimed at educating the staff and fans on the role and impact African Americans have had in our local community, business, education and sports, highlighting Houstonians.

The Texans will highlight local historians, community leaders and elected officials about various topics related to Black History in Houston.

Additionally, the organization will internally hold a virtual education series that will take place over a three-day period later this month. The topics will include Early Houston and African Americans, Civil Rights Movement in Houston, and Representation for Black Culture in Sports, Music and Entrepreneurs.

Fans are encouraged to follow along with the official team channels throughout the month and learn more about Black History in Houston. We will also feature local Black artists' work for weekly Wallpaper Wednesday posts.

Houston Texans Players share what they chose to place on the back of their helmets and why.
