Tom Savage exits after TD drive vs. Panthers

Tom Savage started Wednesday's preseason game at Carolina and led the Texans on a touchdown drive before exiting late in the first quarter.

Savage was 9-of-11 for 69 yards with passes to six different receivers. In his third and final series, Savage orchestrated a 13-play, 75-yard drive that lasted 7:02. Alfred Blue scored on a 16-yard touchdown run to tie the game 7-7 with 0:19 remaining in the first quarter.

Rookie Deshaun Watson took over at quarterback for Savage in the second quarter.
