2022 Texans Care Volunteer Day

Last week, Houston Texans players, TORO, Texans Cheerleaders and fans volunteered at seven locations across Houston for Texans Care Volunteer Day presented by Chevron!

The Houston Texans visited Lantrip Elementary School to celebrate Whataburger's Hunger Action Month Campaign benefiting the Houston Food Bank. The program, now in its 11th year, raised $130,915 this year, bringing the grand total to more than $1.4 million since its inception. Texans LB, Azeez Al-Shaair spoke with the students about the importance of nutrition before spending time playing games with them.

This September, TDECU and the Houston Texans visited Kids' Meals to kick off the Red Zone partnership. Every time the Texans enter the Red Zone, TDECU will donate $300 to Kids' Meals, which provides 150 meals. Texans Safety Jalen Pitre, Texans Legends Wade Smith and Jim Herndon, TORO and Texans Cheerleaders attended the event at Kids' Meals headquarters. TDECU volunteers in attendance packaged 7,600 sandwiches and 2,600 snack packs for children in Houston!

The Houston Texans hosted their 22nd annual Charity Golf Classic presented by your local BMW Dealers to raise money for the Houston Texans Foundation.

The Houston Texans hosted over 200 athletes in their Girls Flag League program for a flag football clinic held at the Houston Methodist Training Center. The athletes developed their skills through a series of drills coached by professional women's football team, the Houston Energy, and were visited by special guests Adrienne Smith and Texans Legends, Cecil Shorts III and Earl Mitchell.

At At J P Henderson Elementary School in Magnolia Park, the Texans launched Reading With The Pros presented by Kroger. Throughout the year, Texans players, TORO, Legends, and HTC will visit second grade classrooms and help children work on and fall in love with reading.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Texans LB Henry To'oTo'o, S Eric Murray, TORO and Texans Cheerleaders partnered with Reliant and Rebuilding Together Houston in an effort called Rebuilding Juntos, where a deserving member of the East End community received free home repairs.

On Saturday, February 10th, the Houston Texans Senior Showcase presented by Gatorade took place at the Houston Methodist Training Center. Over 350 local area high school seniors participated in combine style drills for more than (40) DII, DIII, & NAIA colleges/university.

The Houston Texans opened the doors to NRG Stadium and rolled out the red carpet for the second annual Season Premiere presented by Amegy Bank. The event debuted the 2023 team roster, Texans Legends, HTC, TORO and more!

To celebrate TDECU's donation to Houston-area YMCAs, TDECU and Houston Texans player, Jimmy Morrissey, visited the Houston Texans YMCA to visit with students and participate in a game of financial literacy Jeopardy! Learn more about how TDECU is involved in the Houston community here.

On Dec. 16, Texans WR Nico Collins hosted a shopping spree for 12 kids from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston at Academy Sports + Outdoors. Collins, in partnership with Academy, helped fulfill items from the kids' holiday wish lists including bikes, games, footwear, apparel, team sports gear and more.

The Houston Texans, ConocoPhillips, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages and Ashley awarded $400,000 through the Inspire Change Grant Fund to 15 local nonprofits and educational programs working to make a difference in the Houston community.

Grant recipients were celebrated at a reception at NRG Stadium with Texans President Greg Grissom, Vice President of the Texans Foundation Hannah McNair, DL Maliek Collins, DL Rasheem Green, WR Chris Moore, DL Dayo Odeleye, RB Dare Ogunbowale, DL Ogbo Okoronkwo and Texans Legends.

Taste of the Texans presented by Coca-Cola benefited the Houston Texans Foundation and the Houston Food Bank, and featured food from more than 25 of Houston's top restaurants. Guests sampled each restaurant while raising funds to fight hunger in the community alongside players, legends and more.

In celebration of My Cause My Cleats, Houston Texans wide receivers will wear cleats honoring WR John Metchie III and his battle against leukemia.

To echo Bob and Janice McNair's commitment to H-Town, this Founder's Day, the Texans are highlighting youth mental health. Members of the organization created encouragement jars with positive affirmations for kids across Harris, Ford Bend and Montgomery counties through Family Houston.

More than 100 active military members and USAA came out to Texans Camp to watch practice and attend a Boot Camp at the Houston Methodist Training Center.

We partnered with ConocoPhillips to host hundreds of YMCA students, players and TORO for math and football drills.

The Texans and Reliant surprised six local high school student-athletes with $10,000 college scholarships for exhibiting remarkable leadership.

Texans Pup Kirby turned one year old! We celebrated with Kroger and some of Kirby's adoptable friends from Harris County Pets!

The Texans are donating $400,000 to the Robb School Memorial Fund, which will provide financial assistance directly to the community. Texans players led the donation effort, coming together to give $200,000 for monetary aid and wellness support through the local fund. In support of the players' and football operations staff's generosity, the organization is matching their gift.

The Houston Texans hosted over 400 student-athletes from Houston-area high schools for their annual Senior Showcase. Each high school senior had the chance to show off their football skills in front of 45 colleges to earn scholarships.
