Here are five things you need to know about Treston Decoud, the Texans 2017 fifth-round draft pick:

1. Deflect, deflect, deflect
Decoud tied for a team-high 10 pass breakups last year and earned Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention honors for his performance.

2. Pick 1 and Pick 2
Decoud recorded the first and second interceptions of his career in the same game, against Idaho State last year. He returned one pick 75 yards for a touchdown.

3. Family Matters
His cousin, Thomas Decoud, is a former third-round draft pick of the Atlanta Falcons.

4. In the Fast Lane
He qualified for the Louisiana state track and field championship as a sprinter during his junior and senior year in high school.

5. Motivated by Mom
Decoud, the first-ever Beaver drafted by the Texans, is motivated by his mother, who is a two-time breast cancer survivor.

"She was the motor that kept me pushing," Decoud said. "She normally always kept the focus off of her and had it on me throughout the situation that she was going through. It helped me be the young man I am today and it helped me on the football field because I took that anger out and bring it on the football field. She was my big motivation."
