10 questions with Okam

Defensive tackle Frank Okam got his first taste of the NFL during the Texans' mini-camp. Okam, a former Longhorn, talked about his experience, including lining up with defensive end Mario Williams.

1. What about mini-camp left the biggest impression on you?

"The talent level across the board. From the first string to the last string, everyone is talented."

2. Describe what it was like playing with the first team?

"It was great. There are a lot of great guys out there on the defensive line. Just being able to contribute in any way is exciting, especially when it's your first NFL experience. You have a lot talented guys out there and these guy put in a lot of hard work and they've been in the league for a while now, so you don't want to go out there and mess up."

"Seeing how he approaches everything, he's very serious about his work. He's a technician. He takes pride in doing things the right way."

4. Did Williams' physical ability shock you?

"It really did. I had heard of the things he did at the combine, but to see it on the field, especially the football stuff – in my opinion, he's really unstoppable."

5. What do defensive line coaches Jethro Franklin and Frank Bush want you to work on during OTAs?

"I would say everything. They're making me their little project. They've been riding me pretty hard since I've been here, and I don't expect them to let up anytime soon."

6. Did you get a chance to talk to former Longhorn Kasey Studdard?

"Yes, we got to talk a few times. It was just like the old days at practice at Texas."

7. Looking at the Texans schedule, which team are you most excited to play this season?

"One of my really, really good friends (Rod Wright) plays for the Dolphins, so I'm excited to play them - that and the Titans because I finally will have a chance to sack Vince Young. We never got to touch him in practice at Texas."

8. Which player are you most excited to go against?

"Vince Young."

9. What is the first thing you want to buy as a pro?

"I need somewhere to stay."

10. Is there something interesting about you that maybe fans don't know?

"I really like to cook."
