By The Numbers | Texans at Chargers

The Chargers and the Texans meet for the second time in the calendar year 2025. The first meeting turned out to be a Texans victory in the Wild Card Round of the 2024 Playoffs, or as Rex Ryan called it a "Bye week for the Chargers." Salty or not, let's dive into the numbers for this one.

  • 1 - The Texans have only one regular season or playoff win in Los Angeles - 2019 in Carson, CA against the Chargers. Their starting QB that day was Philip Rivers, who will start for the Colts this week against the Jaguars.
  • 11 - With a Texans win over the Chargers, the Texans will tie the 2018 Texans for the second best mark in team history with 11 wins. The 2012 Texans set the record, going 12-4 in an AFC South division championship season.
  • 7 - With the win over the Raiders last week, the Texans locked up just the seventh double digit win season in team history.
  • 1 - It was also the first time that the Texans had won ten games or more in back-to-back-to-back seasons.
  • 16 - Heading into last year's Wild Card Playoff round game v. the Texans, Chargers Pro Bowl QB Justin Herbert threw just three interceptions in the 2024 regular season. Since that regular season ended, Herbert has thrown 16 in 16 games (one playoff loss to the Texans and 15 regular season games in 2025).
  • 1089 - Nick Chubb and Woody Marks have combined to go over 1000 yards rushing in 2025.
  • 204 - The third leading rusher on the 2025 Texans with just over 200 yards??? QB C.J. Stroud
  • 75 - Last week against the Raiders, Dalton Schultz became the all-time TE leading receiver in a single season. He now has 75 receptions, which leads the 2025 Texans, and with another five snags in each of the last two, he would tie Andre Johnson for 12th all-time for a single season with 85 receptions.
  • 11.5 - Will Anderson Jr. racked up a sack for the first time in four games, giving him 11.5 for the season. Speaking of Will and some others…
  • 4 - Four Texans were named to the Pro Bowl - LB Azeez Al-Shaair, DE Will Anderson Jr, CB Derek Stingley Jr. and WR Nico Collins.
  • 3 - Three Texans were named as alternates - Nickel/S Jalen Pitre, CB Kamari Lassiter and S Calen Bullock
  • 4 - All four members of the starting secondary now have four interceptions on the season after Derek Stingley Jr. had a pick six against the Raiders last week. It was the first pick six for anyone in that group in 2025.

Alright, that's going to do it - See you on Saturday from Los Angeles! Go TEXANS!!
