By The Numbers | Texans at Titans

It's time to make our annual Nashville trip to play the Tennessee Titans. Let's dive into the numbers for this Sunday contest.

  • 48 - This will be the 48th meeting between the Titans and Texans
  • 24-23 - The Titans hold a one game edge in the all-time series, so with a win the Texans can tie the series and come away with a 2-0 sweep.
  • 21 - The Texans have gone 21-13 in the last 34 matchups against the Titans.
  • 5 - The Titans haven't beaten the Texans in Nashville since the COVID matchup in 2020, one of the most exciting football games…with a bad ending that I've ever seen. The Texans haven't lost in Nashville in front of a full crowd since Week two in 2018.
  • 80 - The Texans are 3-0 when RB Woody Marks totals 80 or more scrimmage yards in a game.
  • 1 - They are 1-5 when he does not.
  • 15 - Texans WR Nico Collins tied a career high in targets on Sunday. He finished with seven catches for 136 yards in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was also against Jacksonville, week four, 2024 when Nico had 15 targets in a game.
  • 36 - After DT Sheldon Rankins returned a fumble back for a touchdown, the Texans put up the second most points at home in a regular season game in the DeMeco Ryans era in last week's 36-29 win over Jacksonville
  • 39 - In 2023, in the scintillating win over Tampa Bay, the Texans put up 39 points to beat the Buccaneers.
  • 21 - The largest margin that the Texans have ever overcome to win a game was 21 in the opener to the 2013 season. The Texans were down 28-7 and came back to win that opener against the artist formerly known as the San Diego Chargers.
  • 19 - Last week's win was the second largest margin but even more impressively…
  • 8 - Texans, uh, first year players (DeMeco says we can't call them rookies anymore) have accounted for eight of the team's 18 touchdowns this year. Woody Marks has four total, Jayden Higgins has three and Jaylin Noel has one.
  • 7 - The Texans' Cyclones, aka former Iowa State stars, have accounted for seven of the team's 18 TDs this year - Xavier Hutchinson is tied for the team lead in receiving TDs with three, plus Jayden's three and Jaylin's one. That makes lucky number seven.
  • 1 - No player in Texans history had ever registered 3.5 sacks, 4.0 TFL and one forced fumble. Not one in the history of the franchise…until Danielle Hunter, AFC DPOW, did it on Sunday in the greatest single defensive performance I've ever seen in a game from a Texans defender.

Alright, that's the perfect place to end and get ready to fly to Nashville for this matchup with the Titans. See ya on Sunday, everyone!!
