This week's Houston Texans 5A Coach of the Week Award goes to Head Coach Gary Thiebaud of Cypress Ridge High School. Quarterback Russell Shepard spearheaded this success running for 341 yards and five touchdowns in the 51-35 victory.

This week's Houston Texans 4A-under Coach of the Week Award goes to Head Coach Warren Trahan of Dickinson High School. Coach Trahan's Gators defeated Friendswood 21-17 thus improving their winning streak to six games. The triumph over then area second-ranked Friendswood led the Gators to equal their win total from 2006.

Cypress Ridge High School and Dickinson High School will each receive a $500 grant in their coach's name for winning the Texans Coach of the Week Award. Also, each coach will be recognized on HoustonTexans.com and NFLHS.com, and on the video board at Reliant Stadium. Coach Thiebaud and Coach Trahan will also be invited to the Texans vs. Saints game on November 18 and will be recognized at the Texans High School Coach of the Year Banquet after the season. Fox Sports Net Houston and the US Army are associate sponsors of the Texans Coach of the Week Program.
