Two amazing non-profit groups, The Houston Texans Foundation and the Methodist DeBakey Heart Center, benefited from the proceeds of the event.

Heart disease is a leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States and former professional athletes can find themselves at an increased risk once they retire from a life of vigorous training. Research is vital to understanding, preventing and treating this disease.

Proceeds from this event will benefit cardiac research at the Methodist DeBakey Heart Center, one of the most experienced and comprehensive cardiac centers in the United States. Several of the athletes who attended the dinner will also benefit from a healthy heart screening at the heart center during their stay in Houston.
