Living Smart Conference

* HOUSTON -*Living Smart, in cooperation with HoustonPBS, will host a conference which focuses on vital issues affecting women's health and well- being such as bio- identical hormone therapy, the obesity epidemic, fitness trends, healthy food choices and myths, and family relationships. The Living Smart Conference will take place on April 22, 2006 at The Omni Houston Hotel Westside located at 13210 Katy Freeway Houston, TX 77079.

Registration begins at 7:30am with a continental breakfast along with a healthy lunch. Throughout the morning there will be key note speakers Linda O'Bryon and best-selling author Kat James, the author of "The Truth About Beauty" who has appeared on Today, MSNBC, and in "Vogue", "O", "Self" and "Seventeen". Following will be a book bazaar along with a choice of break-out sessions covering an array of hot topics.

The Houston Texans are supporting this extraordinary conference by providing speakers for the discussion panel. Roberta Anding MS, RD, LD, who is the Nutritional Consultant for the Texans and Dan Riley, who is the strength and conditioning coach for the Texans will both be present to answer questions and offer advice to women of all ages and about any concerns. In addition, the Texans are proud to have Joanie Haley, the Executive Director of the Houston Texans Foundation and the Robert and Janice McNair Foundation as a Living Smart Honoree.

Health screenings will be offered to test bone density, cholesterol and body fat.

Break-out session topics cover hormone therapies, obesity, diabetes, and healthy parenting. Guests will have an opportunity to be pampered with massages, beauty tips and make-overs. Gifts and prizes include Jane Iredale cosmetics and a make-over, N.V. Perricone, MD Cosmeceuticals and make-over, Kat James' Total Transformation Luxury Cruise, and a Deluxe Sesame Street gift Basket. There will also be a Grand prize drawing along with deluxe raffle prizes and sponsor giveaways including a five hundred dollar commemorative gift bag that will be presented to each attendee complete with books, gift certificates and other selected items.
