On the same weekend that the NFL crowned its champion after Super Bowl XLIII, Maxim.com announced the winner of its NFL's Hottest Cheerleader contest.
That winner is none other than Texans Cheerleader Randi, a 21-year-old native of Deer Park, Texas. The second-year veteran spoke with Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com in an exclusive interview to share her reaction to the announcement.
Nick Scurfield: "Congratulations. How does it feel to win this award?"
Randi: "It feels amazing. I can't believe I was even considered for it. There are so many beautiful girls in the NFL, and it's a huge honor to win."
Nick Scurfield: "How did you find out, and what was your reaction?"
Randi: "(Cheerleader services manager) Alto (Gary) actually e-mailed me and told me. I had to keep reading it over and over again; it said, 'Congratulations, you're the winner.' I was like, 'Oh, my god!' It's really exciting. I can't believe it."
Nick Scurfield: "Who was the first person you told after that?"
{QUOTE}Randi: "The first person I told was Amanda. She's a Texans Cheerleader, too. She's been my biggest promoter, so I had to tell her first, and she was so excited."
Nick Scurfield: "I know you did a couple of radio appearances to promote the contest. What did you do to campaign for yourself?"
Randi: "I went on a couple of radio shows. I did 94.5 The Buzz and also did SportsRadio 610. They were all really supportive and told everyone to vote. That, and I basically told all of my friends and family and went out and got online and told everyone to vote. It worked!"
Nick Scurfield: "Were you voting for yourself a lot, too?"
Randi: "I voted one time."
Nick Scurfield: "What would you like to say to the fans who voted for you?"
Randi: "Thank you so much. My gosh, it's a huge honor, and I'm so glad to represent the Texans and I can't believe it. Thank you very much!"
