2021 YMCA Holiday Party

This month, the Lady Texans hosted their annual YMCA Holiday Party at NRG Stadium. YMCA members got into the holiday spirit with a cookie decorating class before they were surprised with gifts from their wish lists courtesy of the Lady Texans. The kids were thrilled to receive toys, tablets, coats and more ahead of the Christmas holiday.

2021 Battle Red Ladies Holiday Volunteer Party

Deck the halls! Battle Red Ladies kicked off the holiday season by Volunteering at the Houston Food Bank. The volunteers packed 10,980 meals for the Houston area.

TORO's Kids Club members had the chance to submit their holiday wish lists in the hopes SantaTORO could grant some of their wishes! The winners visited NRG Stadium and opened their presents with Santa TORO right from the turf.

2021 Chevron Holiday Market Pantry

To bring some holiday cheer to local families, Chevron and the Houston Texans supplied 200 families with turkeys, groceries and holiday gifts at the Chevron Market Pantry last week. The pantry is operated in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, Houston Texans, Chevron and the Houston Food Bank. Texans Cheerleaders, Texans Legends and TORO joined volunteers and staff from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston and Chevron to distribute groceries at the drive-thru pantry.

Houston Texans Teen Club Celebrates 5 Years

This December, the Houston Texans and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston celebrated the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Houston Texans Teen Club at their annual holiday party. The Houston Texans announced a donation of $450,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston to continue our partnership as one of the Texans three strategic community partners.

Houston Texans Founder's Day

The McNair family, TORO and Texans Cheerleaders delivered letters of encouragement and welcome kits to the Hope Lodge on Founder's Day. Hope Lodge Houston, who will provide free lodging and support for those traveling to the Houston area for cancer treatment, is the largest facility of its kind in the U.S. The 64-suite facility will be open year-round and include a shared kitchen, dining spaces, a pantry, daily linen service and patient laundry facilities, as well as a library and computer access. Support groups and social activities will also be available for residents.

Kids Week presented by Texas Children's Hospital

In celebration of Kids Day presented by Texas Children's Hospital on Sunday, October 31, the Texans spread positivity and cheer before the team took on the Los Angeles Rams at NRG Stadium. On Monday and Tuesday, TORO and LB Kamu Grugier-Hill visited patients at Texas Children's Hospital via suspended scaffolding and and an iPad on a robot. Plus, Texans players visited flag football practices and field days to encourage kids to get active!

Inaugural BOLD Awards presented by Coca-Cola

The Houston Texans BOLD Awards presented by Coca-Cola was established to recognize Black, Outstanding Leaders and Doers making a difference throughout the Greater Houston area. With that, we are celebrating African Americans who are positively influencing our city through community engagement, business development or entrepreneurship, social equity, nonprofits (philanthropy), civil service or a rising young leader. Five winners were selected and received a $5,000 donation made in their name to a nonprofit organization of their choice. These award winners were recognized at our August 28 game. Read more here.

Salute to Service Week presented by USAA

In honor of Salute to Service Week presented by USAA, the Texans hosted a private field day at NRG Stadium for veterans and their families who have received homes over the last 10 years through the team's work with Operation FINALLY HOME. The families were treated to a visit from the Texans rookie class and other surprises.

For the past 10 years, the Houston Texans have partnered with Operation Finally Home to surprise a wounded, ill or injured military hero and their family with a home, building homes and hope for these heroes. To celebrate the lives that have been changed through this partnership, the Texans and USAA are inviting 11 families who have received houses to NRG Stadium for a special private family field day on the field of NRG Stadium leading up to Thanksgiving. Families watched a video commemorating 10 years of surprises, received $500 gift cards for groceries for Thanksgiving, Texans goodie bags and enjoy football drills, lunch, games and more.

On Monday, Texans players, coaches, executives, Lady Texans and their families handed out 200 meals to veterans and staff outside the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center for Thanksgiving. In addition to meals, the team delivered a small gift to bring a little bit of comfort to veterans who are hospitalized during the holiday.

Ahead of Veterans Day, Texans WR Danny Amendola, DL Roy Lopez and DB A.J. Moore Jr. visited the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston. They were treated to several unique experiences on base to see what a day looks like for those who are serving. Read more about the base visit here.

During pregame, USAA helped recognize military members during an important part of the game, the coin toss. This week, the coin used during the coin toss was a special Military Challenge Coin, a coin traditionally used in the Armed Forces to recognize achievement and performance. Learn more here.

LT Laremy Tunsil and QB Tyrod Taylor passed out groceries for Thanksgiving meals to families from the Boys and Girls Club and YMCA Houston.

2021 Inspire Change Award recipients surprised with grants totaling $400,000

On Giving Tuesday, the Houston Texans, ConocoPhillips, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages and Miller Lite awarded $400,000 through the Inspire Change Grant Fund to 15 local nonprofits and educational programs working to make a difference in the Houston community. The recipients were surprised at a breakfast at NRG Stadium with Vice President of the Houston Texans Foundation Hannah McNair, Texans players and Texans Legends. Learn more here.

Inspire Change Grant Recipient Book Donation

Texans players and Cheerleaders helped students at DeAnda Elementary School pick six books to take home and keep free of charge thanks to Books Between Kids. Books Between Kids helps to get books in the hands of at-risk students across the city and is one of the 15 nonprofits that received funds through the $400,000 Inspire Change Grant presented by the Texans, ConocoPhillips, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages and Miller Lite.

2021 My Cause My Cleats

Houston Texans players participated in the My Cause My Cleats initiative to showcase causes and organizations that are important to them. Learn more about some of the causes our team supported this year here.

On Sunday, the Houston Texans will be joining players around the league to raise awareness about a cause close to their hearts by wearing it on their feet. This year, 35 Texans players, along with TORO, Houston Texans Cheerleaders and Deep Steel Thunder, will all be participating in My Cause My Cleats.

Tyrod Taylor visits the Boys and Girls Club to reveal his My Cause, My Cleats

In honor of the My Cause My Cleats initiative, Tyrod Taylor spoke to a group of students at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston. Tyrod Taylor selected the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston as his Community Huddle group this season to receive tickets to Texans games through the Tyrod Taylor Foundation. The Tyrod Taylor Foundation supports youth development programs and he wore cleats on Battle Red Day presented by Mattress Firm to showcase the cause. Each member of the Boys & Girls Clubs were given the opportunity to decorate their own pair of "cleats" to highlight a cause and what is important to them courtesy of Mattress Firm.

Houston Texans P Cameron Johnston will be wearing the SPCA on his cleats for Sunday's matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.
