The Texans join Reliant Energy in support of Earth Hour, which is a movement encouraging people around the world to switch off their lights for one hour on Saturday, March 28, 2009.

Between 8:30-9:30 p.m. CT tomorrow, all of the unessential lights at Reliant Park, which includes Reliant Stadium, will be turned off. Reliant Energy also will turn off their exterior signage from the sides of the stadium. Inside the Texans' front office located near Budweiser Plaza inside Reliant Stadium, all staff have been asked to turn off their office, desk and hallway lights, as well as computers, radios, etc.

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses turned off their lights for one hour. Last year, the effort grew to include 50 million people. Lights at internationally recognized landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and the Sydney Opera House were switched off.

This effort is only one piece of the Texans' commitment to sustainability. To learn more about how the Texans are lessening their impact on the environment, click **here** for information on the team's recycling initiative.
