HOUSTON - Staff members from the Houston Texans staff and Reliant Energy teamed up to help refurbish the home of an elderly Houston resident in the Sunnyside neighborhood as part of the annual Day of Caring event.

Texans and Reliant staff will began work at 8:00 a.m. and the staff of Rebuilding Together - Houston (RT - H) coordinated the construction effort. In all, the home was stripped and re-painted, new screens were put on the doors and windows, heavy trash was hauled from the backyard, and other refurbishments were performed.

Since 2002, Reliant Energy through its partnership with RT - H has helped refurbish 55 homes of low-income Houston seniors, with the Houston Texans joining in repairs of four of those homes during annual workdays since 2006.

Texans Ambassador J.J. Moses, along with Nicole, Karen, Loren and Tabbetha of the Houston Texans Cheerleaders, helped out Texans employees from across the organization on Friday.
