TORO and Jalen Pitre visit Bang Elementary to get students fired up for their STAAR Test with the TORO Pass the STAAR program presented by Texas Children's.

At Tijerina Elementary School in Magnolia Park, the Texans launched their second Reading with the Pros kickoff presented by Kroger this semester. For the rest of the spring semester, Texans players, TORO, Legends, and HTC will visit second grade classrooms and help children work on and fall in love with reading.

The Houston Texans collaborated with Literacy Now to enhance the Houston Reads Day event at Collins Elementary School. This initiative involved volunteers reading to students in grades K through 5, aiming to promote the importance of reading. Texans Legend Peter Kalambayi, along with TORO and HTC, read to multiple classrooms on this day.

At J P Henderson Elementary School in Magnolia Park, the Texans launched Reading with the Pros presented by Kroger. Throughout the year, Texans players, TORO, Legends, and HTC will visit second grade classrooms and help children work on and fall in love with reading.

United Airlines and the Houston Texans hosted 30 Aldine ISD students for a STEM focused career exploration day at IAH. Students went behind the scenes with guided tours of the station operations center (SOC), virtual ramp control tower, and an aircraft. Students also engaged in a career panel and Q&A session with professionals from United and the Texans.

In celebration of the Texans advancing to the Divisional Round of the 2025 NFL Playoffs, the team hosted a special Texans Friday Playoff Pep Rally for the students and staff at Jack Yates High School. The pep rally was hosted by Texans' influencer Kiotti, featured multiple giveaways, and included appearances from TORO, the Houston Texans Cheerleaders and Texans Legends.

The Houston Texans celebrated exceptional educators through the Texans Touchdown Teacher Initiative, a 24-hour campaign inviting fans to nominate teachers who exemplify excellence in and out of the classroom. This year's winner, Mrs. Okoli, a 4th grade math teacher at KIPP Shine Prep, was honored in a heartwarming surprise with her entire fourth-grade class.

Houston Texans Legends, TORO, and HTC joined the faculty and staff of Walt Disney Elementary to welcome students back to school after their campus was damaged after the holiday tornadoes in Brazoria County. Walt Disney Elementary School, is one of our valued Flag in Schools campuses.

The Houston Texans have selected DE Dylan Horton as the 2024 Ed Block Courage Award winner. Recipients are selected by a vote of their teammates to recognize extra efforts both on and off the field and their ability to overcome great adversity.

The Houston Texans and the Character Playbook organized an inspiring event featuring a national Medal of Honor recipient and Houston Texans Legends. The event explored the core values of commitment, integrity, and courage through a moderated panel discussion, where guests shared personal stories that highlighted these principles. It was a unique opportunity to witness these values in action and engage in a meaningful dialogue that goes beyond military service and professional sports.

Houston Texans and ConocoPhillips Honor Marine Veteran and North Shore Elementary Teacher Jessica Reyes for her service and dedication to education using TORO's Math Drills.

The Houston Texans partnered with BakerRipley to organize community walks in Houston, particularly in the East End and East Aldine, to distribute information about the upcoming election and provide non-partisan voter details. TORO and two HTC accompanied volunteers during the walks to provide support and enthusiasm.

On September 17th, The Houston Texans and SLB teamed up to host a pep rally at Iowa Colony Junior High School to get students and teachers excited about this math program! During the event, Drew Dougherty hosted a Q&A session with LB Jake Hansen and Legend Peter Kalambayi about math, stats, and the importance of a good education. The event finished with a math game where the Texans joined students.

Texans players Myles Bryant and Neville Hewitt, Legend Chris Clark, Texans Cheerleaders and TORO visited Garden Villas Elementary School to kick off the Huddle Against Hunger presented by Kroger. Students participated in a trivia contest to answer questions about food insecurity. One lucky teacher also won free groceries for a year, courtesy of Kroger!

In a remarkable display of community spirit and commitment to education, the Houston Texans and Xfinity hosted a Digital Literacy Night for families at the Jim & Barbara Morefield Boys & Girls Club. The event, held on July 30th, aimed to empower families with essential digital literacy skills and highlight the importance of safe and effective online presence.
