DeVier Posey Rookie Diary: Back to New England

@DPo8*.

I'm excited. Growing up, I always watched the Patriots, and you always see them in these late postseason games, late heroics, and I'm ready to go against these dudes. I think this is organization is ready to make a statement, and we had a great week in practice and we're just ready to go play, man. We're not worried about what happened is in the past and we're ready to go play.

The last game against the Patriots did have some significance for me because I got my first catch. I felt like that game gave me some confidence and kind of got me started for the back half of the season. I'm just ready to get out there and compete against the DBs and linebackers; I just want to give them everything I've got, give the fans, give my teammates everything I've got.

I love the idea that so many people play football, and this is the only thing that matters. Little league championships are cool, high school state championships are cool, NCAA championships, you can't ever take that away, but they say the Rose Bowl is the Granddaddy of Them All, the Super Bowl is the Great Granddaddy of Them All:. So having the opportunity to pursue that every single day, it's my job description, I love it. I'm just happy, man.

One good thing about playing at New England in December is I feel like I know what I'm going into, I know where I'm staying at, I know where I'm sleeping, I know what I'm walking into, how their fans can be loud. It's whatever, man. We've seen all of this, we know all that. Let's go ball. Let's kick it off. Let's go play.

At practice this week, everybody's just been alert, on their stuff, small details. This probably has to be the week with the least MA's (missed assignments) as far as all the way around offense- and defense-wise. We really didn't have to repeat too many plays, and that just shows where you are as a group.

Personally, I feel great. Point-blank period, when it comes down to it, we've just got to make more plays than they make. If they want to win, they've got to make more plays than us. So that's our mentality: We've just got to go make plays.

I feel like we'll see a lot of our fans on the road. Those Texans fans are strong everywhere. If you're coming out to the game, just scream loud when they're on offense and stay strong in the crowd with all those people from Boston. Just do your thing out there and scream for us, and the fans at home, make sure you're tuned into the tube. We're going to represent this city well.
