HOUSTON - The Houston Texans have signed TE Matt Murphy to their active roster and waived
WR Kendrick Starling, it was announced today.

Houston released Murphy on Sept. 5 and signed him to its practice squad the next
day. The two-year pro has played in four career games -- one with the Texans in
2003 and three with Detroit in 2004.

Starling, a rookie out of San Jose State, was the lone undrafted free agent to
 make the initial 53-man roster.
