Texans to celebrate Pink Ribbon Day on Sunday

The Texans host New England Sunday at NRG Stadium, and it's also Pink Ribbon Day presented by Kroger. The Texans' celebrating cancer survivors, standing with those who've been affected by it and working toward finding a cure.

The first 30,000 fans who enter the stadium will get a free 'GO TEXANS' roll-a-banner, courtesy of Kroger. Members of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority will hand out pink ribbons as well.

The Homefield Advantage Captain for the contest is Elizabeth Weiss. She's a proud breast cancer survivor and will celebrate being cancer-free by ringing a bell on the field with her family, friends and Texans fans.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month – an important reminder for everyone in your life. The experts at Houston Methodist Cancer Center encourage women to stay on top of their annual mammograms, because when detected early, breast cancer is easier to treat. Click here to learn more.

Houston Texans Co-Founder Janice McNair is also a breast cancer survivor, and she'll be the Coin Toss Captain for the game. At the half, the 2021 Houston Texans Cheerleaders All-Stars will have a special Pink Ribbon Day performance.

Houston has won the last two times they've played the Patriots. Last season they triumphed, 27-20, on November 22 at NRG Stadium. In a Sunday Night Football matchup on December 1 of 2019, the Texans scored a touchdown in each quarter and were victorious, 28-22.
