It's time to travel to the Land of 10,000 Lakes to take on the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis for the first time in eight years. Let's dive into the numbers for this one with my By the Numbers for Week 3.
0 - The Texans have never won a regular season game in Minneapolis.
0 - Similarly, the Texans have never won a regular season game against the Vikings anywhere, anytime. That's right, the Texans have never beaten the Minnesota Vikings in their 22 years of existence.
6 - The Vikings have five former Texans on the roster - OT David Quessenberry, DE Jon Greenard, LB Blake Cashman, CB Shaq Griffin, LB Kamu Grugier-Hill and CB Fabian Moreau.
252 - Texans WR Nico Collins has 252 receiving yards, which leads the league through two weeks. His total is 52 yards HIGHER than the next closest pass catcher. Collins has also strung together three straight 100 yard regular season games dating back to last year and four straight 6+ reception games as well.
7 - The Texans had seven sacks last week against the Chicago Bears
9 - The Texans are second in the NFL in sacks.
11 - The Vikings lead the league in sacks, two ahead of the Texans through the first two weeks of the year.
4 - The Texans have won four regular season games in a row, dating back to last year - Tennessee, Indianapolis, Indianapolis and Chicago.
89.0 - Danielle Hunter's 1.5 sacks against Chicago left him just one short of 90 on his career.
365 - Texans WR Stefon Diggs had 365 receptions in his five years in Minnesota, not including the greatest catch/play in the history of the franchise. The Minneapolis Miracle happened in 2017 with two current Texans connecting for the most outrageous, improbable win in NFL history - Diggs and Case Keenum.
1 - This will be the first time back in US Bank Stadium for both Diggs and Hunter since becoming Texans this offseason. Diggs never played the Vikings in Minnesota in his four years in Buffalo.
13 - Texans LB Henry To'o To'o had a career high number of tackles on Sunday night against the Bears.
12 - The Texans set an unfortunate high in penalties last week against the Bears. TWELVE penalties for 115 yards. One penalty negated a game ending third down C.J. Stroud scramble. One penalty negated a Kamari Lassiter interception. One holding penalty negated approximately 35 yards of field position after a Steven Sims punt return. If ANYTHING MUST change, that's exactly it.
5.1 v. 3.1 - In last week's win over the Bears, the Texans averaged two yards per play MORE than the Bears.
Okay, that's going to do it. Time to pack bags and prep for Minneapolis. See ya on Sunday, everyone!
